DiversiTech Cover Line Set Kit 4" 230-IKC4

The DiversiTech 230-IKC4 is a four inch line set cover installation kit, providing channel and fittings for installations requiring a larger channel size.

Four inch channel is specified where the bundle is too large for three inch. This occurs on larger single systems, on multi zone ductless installations where several line sets share a route, and where the run carries a condensate drain alongside the refrigerant lines and control cable.

Sizing should always be established by measuring the assembled bundle rather than estimating from the tubing schedule. Insulation thickness varies with specification and climate, and a suction line insulated to a higher standard for a humid region occupies noticeably more space than the same tube insulated to a minimum standard.

Undersizing is the more common error and the more damaging. An installer facing a bundle that will not fit will compress the insulation, and compressed insulation loses thermal value at precisely the point it is enclosed and unable to dry.

Oversizing costs a little more and looks marginally bulkier, which is a far smaller penalty.

Where several line sets share a channel, keep insulated suction lines from bearing hard against one another, since compression at the contact points has the same effect.

Confirm bundle size, channel compatibility, and kit contents against the surveyed installation before ordering. Arrange all joints to shed water, and seal penetrations and terminations.
