The DiversiTech 6295X is an assortment of 55 twist-on wire connectors covering a range of sizes for control and branch circuit splicing.

An assortment addresses a practical field reality: a technician arriving at a service call cannot predict what conductor gauges and counts the job will present. Equipment installed by different contractors over decades uses varying wire sizes, and a splice may involve two fine control conductors at one connection and four heavier branch circuit conductors at the next. Carrying an assortment means the correctly rated connector is available without a supply house trip or, worse, the temptation to use the wrong size because it is what happens to be in the van.

Using the wrong size connector is a genuine problem rather than a minor compromise. A connector too large for the conductors cannot compress them into firm contact, producing a splice that loosens or makes intermittent contact. A connector too small leaves strands outside the spring where they can contact the grounded enclosure.
