BASO Universal Pilot J999MHA-2H

The BASO J999MHA-2H is a universal pilot burner assembly, supplied in a two pack.

A pilot burner assembly comprises the pilot burner itself, its orifice, and the bracket positioning it relative to the main burner and the flame sensing device. Its job is to produce a small, stable flame of the correct size and shape, positioned to both light the main burner and heat the thermocouple or thermopile.

Universal assemblies cover multiple original equipment applications through interchangeable orifices and adjustable brackets, which makes them practical van stock for service work on the wide variety of standing pilot equipment still in use.

The orifice is the detail that must be correct. It is sized to the gas type and the required pilot rate, and fitting the wrong orifice produces either a pilot too small to reliably heat the sensing device and light the burner, or one too large that wastes gas and may lift off the burner.

Pilot position is the other critical adjustment. The flame must envelop the upper portion of the thermocouple or thermopile and must reach the main burner to light it promptly.

Applications include commercial cooking equipment, boilers, water heaters, unit heaters, and standing pilot appliances.
