This is the Quickread scheme in the 25 ft construction length with a full 1 inch blade — which is the combination where the readability argument pays off most.

A 1 inch blade has real standout, meaning the blade can be extended across a span unsupported. But standout puts the far end of the tape a long way from the reader's eyes, and that is exactly where counting unlabelled fraction marks goes wrong.
