APEX LFKP2212XN Power Tape 12 ft Steel Clearcoat A7 0.5 Inch SAE 1.55 Inch

The LFKP2212XN is a Power Tape, A7 blade style, steel blade, clearcoat finish, 12 ft blade length, 0.5 inch blade width, SAE, 1.55 inch overall height, 5.8 inch overall length, 3.75 inch overall width, chrome case.

At 12 ft with a 0.5 inch blade this is a compact tape, and both numbers point the same way. Blade width governs standout — how far a tape extends unsupported before it buckles and folds. A wide blade curves more in section, which makes it stiffer, which is why wide blades stand out further. A 0.5 inch blade has modest standout.

That is not a flaw; it is a fit. A 12 ft tape is a pocket tool for close work — cabinetry, benchwork, layout at arm's length, and the measurements taken with the tape hooked over an edge a foot away. Standout only matters when reaching across a room alone, which is not what a 12 ft tape is for.

The compact case follows: 5.8 inches long and light enough to live in a pocket rather than a pouch. A tape that is carried is a tape that gets used.

Clearcoat is the blade finish — a protective layer over the printed graduations, less abrasion-resistant than a clad blade but lighter and less expensive.

Applications include cabinetry, benchwork, assembly, and general trades.
