APEX LFKFM050CM Fiberglass Tape 164 ft C3 0.5 Inch Metric 4 1.8 Inch 15.3 Inch

The LFKFM050CM is a fiberglass tape, 164 ft blade length, fiberglass blade, C3 blade style, 0.5 inch blade width, metric, 4 arms, 1.8 inch overall height, 15.3 inch overall length, 9 inch overall width, rawhide case.

Note the length: 164 ft is 50 metres. This is a metric tape whose length has been converted for a US listing, which is worth knowing because the graduations are metric — a customer expecting feet and inches will receive a tape they cannot use, and 164 ft is an odd enough number that it invites the question.

That matters commercially. Metric tapes sell to engineering, scientific, international, and metric-spec work, and mixing them into a feet-and-inches catalogue without flagging the graduation is a returns generator.

Fiberglass is the material and it is chosen for electrical safety first. A long steel tape carried across a site near overhead lines is a conductor in someone's hands, and that is a documented electrocution mechanism. Fiberglass does not conduct. It also refuses to kink, where steel is permanently damaged by a sharp bend.

The limitation: fiberglass stretches under tension. Consistent pull gives consistent readings; inconsistent pull does not. For layout that is acceptable, for precision at distance it is not.

The 4-arm reel gives purchase for winding 50 metres of tape.

Applications include site layout, surveying, utilities, and metric-spec construction.
