The GRW85599 is a combination open end ratcheting wrench set, 12 point, covering 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16, and 3/4 inch SAE, in full polish chrome, alloy steel, standard length.

The ratcheting box end is what makes these worth owning alongside a conventional set. A standard combination wrench must be lifted off the fastener and repositioned after every swing — and in a confined space where the swing is a few degrees, that is a cycle of place, turn, lift, reposition, repeated dozens of times for one nut. A ratcheting wrench stays on the fastener and simply swings back, which turns that job from tedious into quick.

Where it wins hardest is exactly where a socket cannot go: fasteners with something above them that a socket and ratchet cannot clear, but which a thin wrench body can slide onto.

The 12 point geometry engages at twice as many positions as 6 point, halving the arc needed to catch the next tooth — which reinforces the fine-swing advantage. The trade is that 12 point loads the corners of the hex, so for breaking a seized fastener loose a 6 point wrench or socket is the safer tool. Ratcheting wrenches are for running fasteners, not cracking them.
