Weldas ADP55-7466 Alliance Low-Visability Welding Screen Low Transparency

The Weldas ADP557466 is an Alliance low-visibility welding screen measuring 6' x 6', supplied in dark green with a safety orange border. It is a low-transparency screen, built to block arc flash from reaching people working or passing nearby.

Welding screens exist for one reason: arc eye. A welding arc emits ultraviolet radiation that damages the cornea of anyone who looks at it without protection, and the welder's own helmet does nothing for the person walking past the bay. A screen contains the arc.

The screen is made from a specially formulated vinyl at 16 mil (0.4 mm) thickness. The low-transparency, dark green formulation is the correct specification where the priority is maximum arc blocking rather than allowing supervisors to see through into the bay — the trade-off being visibility for containment. The safety orange border makes the screen itself conspicuous in a shop aisle.

Grommets are set at 12" intervals, giving frequent, evenly spaced attachment points so the screen hangs flat on a frame or rail without sagging between fixings. The screen is stitched with Dupont Kevlar thread, which resists the spatter and heat that would burn through conventional thread at the seam and hem.

At 6' x 6' the screen suits individual welding bays, temporary partitions, and shop layouts where work areas share an aisle.

Applications include fabrication shops, maintenance departments, shipyards, structural steel operations, and any facility where welding is performed near foot traffic.
