Weldas ADP44-2142 Alliance Standard Leather Bib Detachable Bib 42"

The Weldas ADP44-2142 is an Alliance Standard leather welding bib in a 42" size, finished in golden leather, built as a detachable bib for chest, torso, and lap coverage.

The bib is the companion piece to cape sleeves. Sleeves protect the arms and shoulders; the bib closes the front. Together they give close to jacket-level coverage across the exposed zone while leaving the back open, which is how a welder stays protected in a warm shop without wearing a full leather jacket through a summer shift.

Construction is split cowhide and Kevlar sewn. Split cowhide is the standard leather for welding garments — it resists spatter and radiant heat, and its napped surface causes sparks to fall away rather than sit and burn in. The Kevlar stitching matters just as much: it holds the seams together long after conventional thread would have burned out and opened the garment up.

At 42" the bib carries coverage well down the front, into the lap — the area that takes falling spatter and slag during bench welding and any seated work.

The detachable design lets the bib be added or removed as the job demands rather than being fixed to a garment.

Applications include stick, MIG, and TIG welding, torch and plasma cutting, grinding, foundry and casting work, and general fabrication. Typically ordered together with matching cape sleeves.
