The TIG Finger is a woven sleeve that slides over a gloved hand. Too small and it will not go on over a welding glove, or it constricts the fingers — which defeats the point, because the whole product exists to preserve the dexterity a TIG welder needs. Too large and it slides around, moves out of position mid-bead, and stops covering the contact point.

Since it goes over a glove rather than a bare hand, the size follows the glove rather than the hand. A welder in a heavy glove needs a bigger sleeve than their hand suggests.

The product exists because TIG welding requires a braced hand. Resting the hand on the work is how a welder holds the torch steady, and the work is hot — hot enough that a thin TIG glove gives seconds. The welder braces, burns, flinches, and the bead wanders.

A ceramic-fibre sleeve takes the heat and lets the hand stay put. Better welds follow directly.

It is a heat shield, not a fireproof glove. It does not replace one, and its rating should be verified against the work.
