The width is the specification that stands out: 19-1/2 inches, against the 15-1/2 inch windows common elsewhere. That is four extra inches of wrap, and it goes to the sides of the face. Peripheral coverage matters because hazards do not always arrive from straight ahead — a fragment off a grinding wheel, a splash from a neighbouring bench, a chip deflecting off a fixture. A narrow shield leaves the temples and cheeks exposed.

The height of 6-1/2 inches is correspondingly shorter, which is the trade: this is a wide, shallow window rather than a tall one. Splash work, where liquid runs down, wants the taller shields.
