The Moldex MOX4800 is an Airwave disposable N95 particulate nuisance respirator, medium/large, gray, dual adjustable headstraps, no exhalation valve, with organic vapor nuisance odor removal, cloth straps, 8 per box.

The phrase that must not be misread is nuisance odor removal, and this is worth being blunt about because getting it wrong is dangerous.

This respirator carries a carbon layer that absorbs organic vapour odours. It reduces the smell. It is not respiratory protection against organic vapours, and it has no rating for them. Anyone working in a concentration of solvent vapour that presents a health hazard needs a cartridge respirator with certified organic vapour cartridges and a change-out schedule — not a disposable with a carbon layer in it.

The distinction exists because unpleasant smells and dangerous concentrations are different problems. Nuisance-level odour removal makes tolerable work tolerable. It does nothing for exposure.

The particulate rating is real: N95 means at least 95 percent particle capture. The N means not resistant to oil.

The Airwave name refers to Moldex's wave-shaped filter media, which increases surface area in the same footprint — more media means lower breathing resistance for the same filtration.

Cloth straps are more comfortable than elastic against the face and contain no latex.

Fit is everything. A respirator that does not seal has no rating.

Applications include particulate exposure with nuisance odours.
