MJ Brunin MERV 11 Filter 20X25X5-1/4 M8-1056

The MJ Brunin M8-1056 is a MERV 11 deep pleated media air filter with a nominal 20 by 25 inch face and a 5-1/4 inch depth, supplied for media air cleaner cabinets on larger air handlers and furnaces.

The combination of a large face and five inch depth yields a very substantial pleated surface area. That area is what allows MERV 11 filtration to be applied with a low pressure drop and a long service interval, typically six to twelve months rather than the monthly or quarterly replacement a one inch panel demands.

The relationship is worth understanding when selecting filtration. Face velocity through the media determines both resistance and capture efficiency, and increasing surface area lowers face velocity. A deep media filter therefore achieves finer filtration at less cost in static pressure than a thin filter of the same MERV rating, while also holding far more dust before that pressure begins to climb.

The 20 by 25 inch face is standard on higher capacity residential and light commercial equipment, where blower airflow makes the additional filter area particularly valuable.

A deep media filter requires a matching cabinet installed in the return duct; it will not fit a conventional one inch rack.

Applications include residential and light commercial media air cleaners on furnaces, air handlers, and heat pumps. Confirm actual dimensions and cabinet model, and check external static pressure after installation.
