The Loctite LOC826034 is a QuickStix thread sealant, 248 thread locker, medium strength, 9 gram stick / 0.32 oz.

The stick format is the specification and it addresses a real and slightly undignified problem: liquid threadlocker goes everywhere. A bottle applied overhead runs down the thread, down the fastener, onto the hand, and onto whatever is below. In an assembly with paint, seals, or electronics nearby, that is a problem, and in a service van it means a bottle that leaks in a toolbox.

A semi-solid stick applies where it touches and nowhere else. It works overhead, it does not drip, it does not spill in a bag, and it lets a technician carry threadlocker in a pocket. For field service, that is the whole argument.

248 is a medium-strength blue-class threadlocker, which means the fastener can be removed later with hand tools. High-strength red products require heat to disassemble.

What a threadlocker does is fill the clearance between engaged threads with a cured solid. A threaded fastener does not fill its hole — there is clearance, and vibration lets the fastener creep within it and back out. The cure stops that, and it seals the joint against corrosion.

The cure is anaerobic: solid when air is excluded and metal ions are present.

Applications include field service, maintenance, and overhead assembly.
