Gorilla Glue GOR105680 Gorilla 2.88 In

The Gorilla Glue GOR105680 is Tough & Wide heavy-duty duct tape, 2.88 inch x 25 yards, in silver.

The width is the specification and it changes what the tape can do. At 2.88 inches this is more than half again the width of a standard 1.88 inch roll, and width translates directly into holding power — adhesive area scales with it, and so does the tensile strength of the scrim across the tape's length. A wider tape holds heavier things and spans wider gaps in a single pass rather than requiring two overlapping strips.

That single-pass capability matters more than it sounds. Two strips of tape have a seam between them, and a seam is where a repair starts to fail.

Note the trade in roll length: 25 yards here against 30 yards on the 1.88 inch roll. That is not a shortfall — a wider tape on the same core diameter yields less length, because there is more material per yard. Buyers comparing rolls on price should compare on area rather than length.

Silver is the visible colour, which suits repairs and temporary work that others need to see.

Applications include heavy repairs, bundling, sealing large joints, moving and packing, and general maintenance across construction, facilities, and shop work.

As with all duct tape, it is not the correct material for permanent HVAC duct sealing — foil tape is.
