The Loctite LOC135354 is Loctite 242 thread locker, medium strength, 10 ml bottle / 0.34 oz.

Loctite 242 is the original blue medium-strength threadlocker and the number is essentially generic in workshops — people say "242" the way they say "WD-40."

What it does is fill the clearance between engaged threads with a cured solid. That matters because a threaded fastener does not actually fill its hole: there is clearance, and vibration lets the fastener creep within it until it works loose. A cured anaerobic locks the two thread forms together and stops the creep. It also seals the joint against moisture and corrosion, which is the reason many bolts that never loosen still get threadlocked.

Anaerobic is the cure mechanism: it stays liquid in contact with air and cures when air is excluded and metal ions are present. That is why it cures in the joint but not in the bottle.

Blue is the colour code for medium strength — removable later with hand tools. Red is high strength and generally needs heat to disassemble.

Note that 242 requires reasonably clean, dry threads. Loctite 243 is the oil-tolerant version that cures on as-received oily fasteners, which for field work is the more forgiving choice.

The 10 ml bottle is the small size, for occasional use.
