The Lenox LEN20980HSF18 is an 18 inch ABS/PVC pipe saw.

A dedicated plastic pipe saw exists because plastic and wood cut completely differently, and using a wood saw on PVC produces a poor result for a specific reason.

Plastic is thermoplastic — it softens with heat. A saw tooth designed for wood generates friction, the friction generates heat, and the heat melts the plastic, which then welds itself back together behind the blade and binds it. The cut gets harder, the saw gets hotter, and the result is a ragged, melted edge. A plastic pipe saw uses tooth geometry that shears rather than scrapes, clearing chips instead of generating heat.

The edge quality matters more than cosmetics. Solvent-welded joints depend on a square, clean, burr-free cut for the fitting to seat fully. A melted, ragged end means the pipe does not bottom in the socket, and the joint fails later — buried, poured in, or in a wall.

At 18 inches this is a full-length saw, which gives long strokes and fast cuts on larger diameters.
