Jackson Safety JKSS26200 Sellstrom Sellstrom Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with

The Jackson Safety JKSS26200 is a Sellstrom auto-darkening welding helmet with an Advantage Plus Series variable ADF, in black.

The Advantage Plus designation places this above the Advantage Series in Sellstrom's range, and the practical question when choosing between them is what the upgrade buys. Confirm the specifics against the manufacturer's data, since the differences between ADF tiers are typically the ones that matter most in use: viewing area, sensor count, and the granularity of the sensitivity and delay controls.

Sensor count is the one worth understanding. Sensors detect the arc and trigger the filter. If the sensors are shadowed — by the work, by the torch, by the welder's own hand in an awkward position — the filter does not darken, and the welder takes the arc. More sensors mean more angles covered, which is why out-of-position and confined work benefits from higher sensor counts.

Variable shade means the dark state adjusts across a range rather than sitting at one fixed level. That is what lets one helmet serve TIG, MIG, and stick, since the correct shade follows the current.

An ADF's core benefit is that the welder positions the electrode with the hood already down, sees the joint, and strikes. No nodding, no guessing.

Verify replacement headgear and cartridge compatibility before ordering.
