DiversiTech 7/8 Linset Cleaner Foam HLP078

The DiversiTech HLP078 is a foam line set cleaning puck sized for 7/8 inch tubing.

Larger line sizes serve suction lines on bigger equipment, and flushing them presents a few differences from smaller tubing.

The volume of flushing agent required is greater, since the internal surface area and the bore both increase. Underestimating the quantity means a partial flush, and the tail end of the line receives little benefit.

The pressure needed to drive a puck through a larger line is generally lower for the same length, since the puck presents a larger area to the driving gas, but the total gas volume required is higher.

Suction lines also carry more of the residual oil in a system, because oil returns along the suction line and accumulates in low points and long horizontal runs. On a mineral oil to POE changeover, the suction line is where most of the residual mineral oil will be found.

Multiple passes are usually necessary, continuing until the pucks emerge clean. A single pass on a heavily contaminated line removes the bulk but leaves a film.

Thorough drying afterward is essential, and nitrogen should be blown through until no trace of flushing agent remains.

Confirm the puck size matches the tube bore, allow adequate flushing agent for the line volume, and verify the line is completely dry before connecting equipment.
