DiversiTech 3/4 Linset Cleaner Foam Puck HLP034

The DiversiTech HLP034 is a foam cleaning puck sized for 3/4 inch line sets.

Puck sizing is what makes the method work. The puck must be slightly larger than the tube bore so that it is compressed as it travels, maintaining contact with the entire internal surface.

A puck that is undersized passes through without wiping the wall, and the flushing achieves little more than the agent alone would. An oversized puck may stall in the line, and a stuck puck in a line set that runs through a wall is a genuine problem, since retrieving it means either driving it out with higher pressure or cutting into the tubing.

Using the size specified for the tube, and confirming the actual tube size rather than assuming it, avoids this.

Line sets frequently contain more than one size, with a small liquid line and a larger suction line, and each requires its own puck size. Flushing both means running the appropriate puck through each.

Bends and fittings in the line increase the pressure needed to drive the puck through, and a line with several tight bends may require noticeably more.

The pucks are consumable and are discarded after use, since they carry the contamination removed.

Confirm the puck size matches the tube internal diameter, use a compatible flushing agent, and dry the line thoroughly with nitrogen afterward.
