Procell DURPX2400 Alkaline Battery Bulk Intense 1.5 V AAA 1223 mAh

The Duracell DURPX2400 is a Procell Intense alkaline battery in AAA size, model PX2400, rated 1.5 V with a capacity of 1,223 mAh. Supplied bulk, 24 per box, 6 boxes per case.

This cell is the clearest illustration of what Procell's two lines actually mean, and it is worth pausing on. The Intense AAA is rated 1,223 mAh; the Constant AAA is rated 1,236 mAh. The Intense cell holds slightly less energy than the Constant one.

That is not an error and it is not a downgrade. It confirms that these lines are not tiers. Each formulation is optimised for a discharge pattern, and the Intense chemistry trades a marginal amount of total capacity for the ability to sustain voltage under heavy current draw. In a high-drain device, that trade wins decisively — the cell keeps the device running properly instead of sagging and triggering an early cutoff. In a low-drain device, it gains nothing.

So the selection rule is about the device, not the number: high current or burst draw takes Intense, steady moderate draw takes Constant. Buying by capacity gets it backwards.

AAA applications in the Intense category include wireless equipment with transmit bursts, handheld scanners, and powered small devices.

Bulk packaging at 24 per box, 6 boxes per case suits institutional stores.

Applications include facilities maintenance, healthcare, hospitality, security, and industrial operations.
