Intense is the other half of the Procell range and the distinction from Constant is discharge profile, not quality. Intense cells are formulated for devices that draw hard — high current, often in bursts — where a standard alkaline cell's voltage sags under load and the device underperforms or cuts out before the chemistry is actually spent. The capacity figures across the Procell range make this clearer than any marketing line could. In D size, Intense is rated 18,600 mAh against Constant's 15,476 — meaningfully higher. But in AA both lines are rated 3,016 mAh, and in AAA the Intense cell is actually rated slightly lower than the Constant. Capacity is not what separates them.
