Procell DURPC1604 Alkaline Battery Bulk Constant 9 V 9V 673 mAh

The Duracell DURPC1604 is a Procell Constant alkaline battery in 9V size, model PC1604, rated 9 V with a capacity of 673 mAh. Supplied bulk, 12 per box, 6 boxes per case.

The 9V in an institutional setting means one thing above all others: smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. A commercial building, a school, a hotel, or a care facility may have hundreds of them, and they are on a maintenance schedule rather than a wait-until-it-chirps basis. That is exactly the buying pattern bulk Procell exists to serve — a technician working through a building with a box of cells, changing every alarm on a planned round.

That application also explains why this is a Constant cell. An alarm draws a small, steady standby current for years. It is the definition of a constant drain device, and matching the formulation to that profile is what delivers the full service interval.

The 673 mAh capacity looks small next to the AA and C figures in the range, and that is a function of construction rather than quality. A 9V is not one cell — it contains six small 1.5 V cells in series inside the rectangular housing, which is how the voltage is produced and why capacity is modest relative to physical size.

Beyond alarms, 9V serves test equipment, multimeters, and instrumentation.

Applications include facilities maintenance, fire safety contracting, healthcare, education, hospitality, and property management.
