NAVAC Thermometer Bluethooth Psychrometer NSH1

The NAVAC NSH1 is a Bluetooth psychrometer for temperature and humidity measurement.

A psychrometer measures both dry bulb temperature and humidity, from which wet bulb temperature, dew point, and enthalpy can be derived. Those quantities are what describe the state of air, and several HVAC assessments depend on them.

Measuring the change in air condition across an evaporator coil, entering and leaving wet bulb, indicates the total capacity the coil is delivering, which includes both the sensible cooling that changes temperature and the latent cooling that removes moisture. Pressure and temperature measurements on the refrigerant side alone do not reveal this.

Humidity measurement also identifies comfort problems that temperature alone does not explain. A space held at the correct temperature but at high humidity will feel uncomfortable, and the cause is frequently an oversized system that satisfies the thermostat before it has run long enough to dehydrate the air.

Bluetooth connectivity allows readings to be logged and combined with other instrument data in an application.

Applications include air conditioning diagnosis, capacity assessment, indoor air quality investigation, and commissioning.
