Fasco 4LEG Motor Bracket HFM554

The Fasco HFM554 is a four leg motor mounting bracket used to support motors in blower and fan housings.

Leg count is a specification to match rather than to choose. Motor mounting brackets are supplied in three leg and four leg configurations, and the equipment determines which is required, since the legs must align with the mounting points provided in the housing or on the equipment frame.

Fitting a bracket with the wrong number of legs, or with legs at the wrong spacing, means either drilling new mounting holes or supporting the motor on fewer points than intended. Both compromise the installation, and a motor supported on fewer points than designed is more likely to shift and to transmit vibration.

Four leg brackets are common where a motor is mounted in a circular housing or where a more even distribution of support is wanted.

Beyond leg count, the bracket must suit the motor frame diameter, the legs must be long enough to position the shaft correctly relative to the wheel, and the whole assembly must leave the wheel free to rotate without contact.

Checking wheel clearance by rotating it through a full turn by hand before restoring power is a short step that prevents an expensive one.

Confirm frame diameter, leg configuration and spacing, and shaft positioning against the equipment. Verify vibration isolation is maintained where the original mounting provided it.
