DiversiTech Adjustable Flx Bracket TFM556

The DiversiTech TFM556 is an adjustable flexible motor mounting bracket used to support electric motors in fan and blower assemblies.

Adjustable brackets earn their place in service work by covering situations where an exact replacement bracket is unavailable or where the original mounting has been modified over the years.

Older equipment presents this regularly. A unit that has had two or three motor changes may have a mounting arrangement that no longer matches anything in a catalogue, and an adjustable bracket allows a current production motor to be fitted without fabricating a mount.

The flexibility to be gained is in mounting dimensions rather than in the motor's alignment requirements, which remain exactly as demanding as they would be with an original bracket. The motor must sit square, the shaft must be positioned correctly relative to the fan or blower wheel, and there must be adequate clearance for the wheel to turn freely through its full arc.

An adjustable bracket also has to be tightened properly. A bracket that can be adjusted can also move, and a motor that shifts in service will misalign the wheel and may allow it to contact the housing.

Vibration isolation should not be lost in the adaptation. Where the original mounting incorporated resilient elements, the replacement should too.

Confirm the bracket accommodates the motor frame size and the available mounting positions, and verify wheel clearance before commissioning.
