Duracell DURDX2400B4N Nimh Rechargeable Batteries AAA

The Duracell DURDX2400B4N is a NiMH rechargeable battery, DX2400B4N, in AAA size, supplied 4 per pack with 24 packs per case.

AAA is the size where rechargeable economics get interesting, because AAA-powered devices are frequently the ones that eat batteries: wireless keyboards and mice, remote controls in daily use, headsets, small torches, and portable electronics. These are exactly the applications a rechargeable suits — regular use, regular recharge, a predictable cycle.

The rule that decides whether a rechargeable belongs in a device is self-discharge. NiMH cells lose charge in storage in a way alkaline does not. In something used weekly and recharged, that is irrelevant. In a device that sits in a drawer for a year and must work when it is finally picked up, it disqualifies the chemistry entirely — which is why emergency equipment stays on alkaline or lithium.

NiMH runs at 1.2 V nominal against alkaline's 1.5 V. The overwhelming majority of devices are indifferent to this; a small number of voltage-sensitive ones are not.

The environmental and cost case is the same one: a single NiMH cell displaces hundreds of alkaline cells over its life, both from the budget and from the waste stream.

Applications include offices, households, workshops, and facilities running AAA devices continuously.

Supplied 4 per pack, 24 packs per case.
