Duracell DURDX1500R4090 Batteries Rechargeable NiMH AA

The Duracell DURDX1500R4090 is a rechargeable NiMH battery in AA size, supplied 4 per pack, 6 packs per box, 24 packs per case.

Rechargeable NiMH is an economic decision rather than a performance one, and the arithmetic is worth stating plainly. A NiMH cell costs several times an alkaline cell up front and then replaces hundreds of them. For any device that consumes batteries steadily — a wireless mouse, a game controller, a camera flash, a piece of test equipment in daily use — the crossover point arrives quickly and the saving compounds. For a smoke alarm or an emergency flashlight, it never arrives at all, and alkaline or lithium is the correct choice.

The distinction that governs the choice is self-discharge. NiMH cells lose charge sitting on a shelf in a way alkaline cells do not, so a rechargeable in a device that is used once a year will be flat when it is needed. Rechargeables belong in things that get used and recharged in a cycle.

The nominal voltage of NiMH is lower than alkaline — 1.2 V against 1.5 V. Most devices handle this without issue, but a few voltage-sensitive ones do not, which is worth knowing before converting an entire facility.

Applications include households, offices, workshops, and facilities running AA-powered equipment continuously.

Supplied 4 per pack, 24 packs per case.
