The Duracell DURDL123AB2PK is a specialty battery, model DL123A, rated 3.3 V with lithium chemistry and a 1550 mAh capacity. Supplied 2 per pack, 36 packs per case.
The 123A lithium cell exists to do things alkaline cannot, and the differences are substantial. Lithium chemistry delivers high current without the voltage sag that alkaline suffers under heavy load, works across a far wider temperature range including genuine cold, and holds its charge in storage for many years rather than months. Those three properties define its applications precisely.
That is why the 123A is the standard cell in tactical and high-output flashlights, security and alarm sensors, wireless door locks, cameras, optics, and medical devices. These are applications where the battery must either deliver hard current on demand or sit unused for years and still work when it is finally needed — and where an alkaline cell fails at both.
The 1550 mAh capacity in a cell this compact reflects lithium's energy density, which is what allows a small flashlight to produce output that would need much larger alkaline cells.
The 2-pack is the working format, since most 123A devices take one or two cells.
Applications include tactical and outdoor lighting, security systems, smart locks, cameras and optics, laser sights, and medical equipment.
