The DiversiTech 230-D4A is a four inch Speedichannel section used in line set concealment and routing systems.

Channel systems used for concealing and supporting refrigerant lines serve several purposes at once, and it is worth being clear about which are structural and which are protective.

The channel protects the line set insulation from ultraviolet degradation, from birds and rodents, and from physical damage. That is its primary function and the one that affects system performance over time.

It also provides a route. A defined channel keeps the line set running where it was intended rather than sagging or drifting, and it makes later additions or replacements straightforward.

What channel of this type generally does not do is carry structural load. The line set inside must be supported at appropriate intervals in its own right, and the channel should not be relied upon to hold the weight of the tubing over a long span.

Sizing follows the assembled bundle including insulation, not the tubing diameter. Compressing insulation to make a bundle fit defeats the purpose of the installation.
