DiversiTech 3/16 Pan Anchor 7101CX

The DiversiTech 7101CX is a 3/16 inch pan head masonry anchor supplied for fastening equipment and fixtures to concrete, block, and brick.

Masonry anchors of this type are installed by drilling a hole of a specified diameter and depth, clearing it, and driving the anchor so that its hardened threads cut into the base material.

The hole diameter is not approximate. Anchors of this type depend on a precise interference between the anchor and the hole, and the manufacturer specifies a matched bit size. A hole drilled oversize, whether from using the wrong bit or from a worn bit or a wobbling drill, gives reduced holding power that cannot be recovered by tightening.

Hole depth must exceed the embedment depth so that dust and debris have somewhere to go. The hole must also be cleared, by blowing or vacuuming, since drilling dust left in the hole prevents the anchor reaching depth and reduces holding significantly.

Embedment depth is what determines capacity. An anchor set shallower than specified holds proportionally less, and edge distance and spacing between anchors also affect capacity in masonry, since the material can break out at an edge.

Pan heads suit applications where a low profile head is wanted and the fixture has a matching countersink or clearance hole.
