CRC CRC03175 Corrosion Inhibitors 12 oz Dark Red Aerosol

The CRC03175 is a corrosion inhibitor supplied in a 12 oz aerosol with a 7.5 oz net fill, 1 each with 12 per case. It is a dark red liquid, classified extremely flammable, with a flash point below 0 °F and a specific gravity of 0.727.

A corrosion inhibitor is not a lubricant and should not be specified as one. Its purpose is to occupy a metal surface and exclude the moisture and oxygen that corrosion requires — laying down a barrier film that stays put through storage, transit, or seasonal shutdown. The measure of one is not how well it lubricates but how long the surface stays clean when nobody is looking at it.

The dark red colour is a working feature. Corrosion protection fails at the gaps, and a coloured film makes coverage visible during application, so the operator can see what has actually been treated rather than assuming it.

The solvent carrier delivers the inhibitor into seams, joints, and cavities, then evaporates and leaves the protective film behind — including inside enclosed sections that cannot be reached with a brush.

The flash point below 0 °F requires ignition sources to be eliminated from the work area, with ventilation, particularly when treating enclosed cavities.

Applications include equipment in storage, seasonal layup, parts in transit or export packing, dies and moulds, machined surfaces, tooling, and exposed metal on vehicles and marine equipment.
