Coppertop DURMN2400B16Z Alkaline Battery 1.5 V AAA

The Duracell DURMN2400B16Z is a Coppertop alkaline battery in AAA size, model MN2400, rated 1.5 V. Supplied 16 per pack, 20 packs per case.

A 16-pack of AAA is a household supply purchase, and the size lends itself to it more than most. AAA devices tend to be numerous rather than singular — a house has one lantern but four remotes, two keyboards, a mouse, a headset, and a thermometer. They all run down at different times, which is why AAA is the size people find themselves out of.

Buying 16 at once is a response to that pattern rather than to a specific dead device.

The reason AAA has grown as a category is device design. As remotes, peripherals, and small electronics have got thinner, they have moved from AA to AAA — and accepted the trade that comes with it. A AAA holds considerably less energy than an AA at the same 1.5 V, so devices run for less time between changes. That is the cost of the smaller product, and it drives replacement frequency.

The 16 per pack, 20 per case format suits retail and general merchandise distribution.

One rule worth following in every device: change the full set together. A new cell among depleted ones is driven into reverse charge and leaks, and a leaked cell ruins the remote it was in.

Applications include households, offices, schools, retail, and general facilities.
