Coppertop DURMN13RT8Z Alkaline Battery MN1300 1.5 V D

The Duracell DURMN13RT8Z is a Coppertop alkaline battery in D size, model MN1300, rated 1.5 V. Supplied 8 per pack, 12 packs per case.

D is the largest common alkaline size and everything about it follows from that. The physical volume exists to hold energy, and that energy buys sustained runtime and the ability to deliver real current — which is why D cells live in lanterns, large flashlights, portable radios, and equipment that must run rather than blink.

An 8-pack is two complete fills for most of those devices, which is the practical quantity for a household or small operation that wants a working set and a spare set.

Worth understanding for a size used this way: cells in a series string should be replaced together and should not be mixed across brands or ages. In a multi-cell device the weakest cell governs the whole string, and a fresh cell driven against depleted ones can be forced into reverse charge — which is a leading cause of leaking. Replacing as a set is not a sales tactic; it is how the chemistry works.

The other practical rule for standby equipment: store cells beside the device rather than in it. Alkaline cells left in a rarely-used lantern for years can leak and destroy it.

Applications include emergency preparedness, outdoor and camping, marine, and household standby.

The 12 packs per case format suits retail and hardware distribution.
