Coppertop DURMN1300R4Z17 Alkaline Battery 1.5 V D

The Duracell DURMN1300R4Z17 is a Coppertop alkaline battery in D size, model MN1300, rated 1.5 V. Supplied 4 per pack, 12 packs per case.

The 4-pack is the retail format for D cells and it maps to how the size is actually used. Most D cell devices take two or four cells — a lantern, a large flashlight, a portable radio — so a 4-pack is one complete fill. That is the purchase a customer makes when the flashlight in the closet is dead and they need it working now.

D cells are the largest common alkaline format, and their size is entirely about stored energy. They exist for devices that need to run for a long time, draw meaningful current, or both. That places them squarely in emergency and outdoor equipment: the lantern that has to last a night, the radio that has to run through an outage, the torch in a truck.

One practical point matters for a size used this way. Cells should be replaced as a set rather than individually. Mixing a fresh cell with partly depleted ones in a series string forces the good cell to work against the weak ones, which reduces total runtime and increases leak risk — which is why a 4-pack rather than loose singles is the right unit.

Applications include emergency preparedness, camping and outdoor, marine, and household equipment.

The 12 packs per case format suits retail and hardware distribution.
