The Appion MGABAS MegaFlow basics kit supplies evacuation hoses and fittings for improved vacuum performance.

Evacuation speed is governed by the restrictions in the path between the pump and the system, and those restrictions are almost always the hoses and fittings rather than the pump itself.

A pump rated at several cubic feet per minute is measured at its inlet. Connect it through quarter inch hoses with Schrader cores in place, and the effective flow at the system may be a small fraction of that figure. The pump runs, the technician waits, and the vacuum falls far more slowly than the pump's rating suggests it should.

The remedies are all about removing restriction: larger diameter hoses, shorter runs, minimal fittings, and removal of the Schrader valve cores using a core removal tool that allows them to be taken out and replaced without losing the vacuum.

The combined effect is substantial, frequently reducing evacuation time by a large factor.

Since inadequate evacuation is a leading cause of subsequent compressor failure, equipment that makes proper evacuation quick enough to actually perform has real value.
