Windex SCJ696503 Glass Cleaner 1 gal Blue Bottle Floral

The Windex SCJ696503 is glass cleaner, 1 gal bottle, floral scent, blue, 4 per case.

The gallon bottle is the specification and it points at how glass cleaner is actually used in a facility rather than a kitchen.

Nobody in a commercial setting buys trigger bottles. They buy the gallon and refill, because a facility with fifty windows, a hundred display cases, or a fleet of vehicles goes through cleaner at a rate that makes single bottles absurd — both in cost and in the volume of empty trigger bottles it generates.

That refill practice carries one caution worth stating: a refilled bottle needs to be labelled. An unlabelled spray bottle of blue liquid in a workplace is a hazard communication failure, and it is the single most common one there is. The requirement is not satisfied by everybody knowing what it is.

What a glass cleaner is chemically is a fast-evaporating solvent blend with a little surfactant and almost no residue. The residue part is the point — anything left behind on glass is a streak, so a glass cleaner is formulated to leave nothing. That is also why it is poor at heavy soil: there is nothing in it to do the work.

Applications include windows, glass, mirrors, and display cases.
