The Packard L5311 is a 6 watt, 115 volt clockwise rotation unit bearing motor for evaporator and condenser fan applications in commercial refrigeration equipment.

Unit bearing construction supports the shaft through a single elongated bearing cartridge, giving a compact and economical motor suited to the light fan loads found throughout refrigeration equipment.

Rotation is specified as clockwise viewed from the shaft end, and it must match the fan blade fitted. Refrigeration fan blades are handed, and a motor of the wrong rotation paired with an existing blade moves air in the opposite direction to that intended, which in an evaporator means air is pulled through the coil from the wrong side and distribution within the cabinet is disrupted.

Where the correct rotation cannot be established from a failed motor's nameplate, the direction can be determined from the blade itself and from where the air needs to go.

Confirm wattage, voltage, rotation, shaft diameter and length, mounting stud arrangement, and permitted mounting orientation before ordering, and check that the blade is undamaged and correctly seated during installation.
