The Century A.O. Smith FDL6001A is a 1/2 horsepower, 115 volt motor supplied for fan and blower applications in HVAC and general air moving equipment.

Half horsepower on a 115 volt supply draws roughly twice the current of the same output at 230 volts, which places real demands on the branch circuit. Conductor size, overcurrent protection, and terminal ratings should all be confirmed against the motor nameplate before energising, particularly where the replacement represents an increase in horsepower over the original or where the wiring is of unknown age.
