The Packard L5821 is a 16 watt, 208-230 volt clockwise rotation unit bearing motor for refrigeration evaporator and condenser fan applications.

Completing a refrigeration fan motor replacement involves several checks beyond fitting the part. The blade should be inspected for damage, corrosion, and deposits, and refitted at the correct depth relative to the coil or orifice. The guard should be secure and correctly positioned. Wiring should be routed clear of the blade and made with connections suited to a cold, damp environment.

The wider system deserves a look while access is available. On an evaporator, that means checking that the defrost cycle terminates properly, that the drain is clear and unfrozen, and that the coil is not partially blocked with frost or debris. On a condenser, it means checking that the coil is clean and the airflow path unobstructed.
