Packard Motor UB Clockwise 16W 115V L5811

The Packard L5811 is a 16 watt, 115 volt clockwise rotation unit bearing motor for evaporator and condenser fan duty in commercial refrigeration equipment.

At 16 watts this motor serves larger fan positions than the 6 and 9 watt units, typically driving a larger propeller or a fan position where more air must be moved across the coil.

Output rating must be matched rather than approximated when replacing. A motor of lower output fitted to an existing blade will be overloaded and run hot; one of higher output will drive the blade faster than intended, which changes airflow and may exceed the guard and clearance assumptions in the equipment design.

Where the failed motor's rating cannot be read, the equipment manufacturer's parts listing is a more reliable source than estimating from the blade size.

The blade itself should be inspected during replacement. A bent, corroded, or partially frost-damaged blade moves substantially less air, and fitting a new motor behind a damaged blade does not restore the airflow the coil needs.

Confirm wattage, voltage, rotation, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and permitted mounting orientation before ordering.
