Nidec/Emerson Rescue Motor Oem 1/12-1/20 HP 9721

The Nidec/Emerson 9721 is a Rescue series motor covering 1/12 to 1/20 horsepower, supplied as a universal OEM replacement for small fan motors in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Rescue is Nidec's long-established universal replacement motor brand, built around the principle that a small number of motors covering ranges of horsepower, speed, and mounting can replace a very large number of specific OEM parts. The name reflects the intended use: the motor a technician carries so that a failed OEM part does not become a return visit.

For distributors the platform reduces the shelf space and capital tied up in slow-moving specific part numbers, and for contractors it converts a large proportion of motor failures into first-visit repairs.

The trade-off is configuration. A Rescue motor arrives capable of several ratings and mountings, and it is the installer who selects the correct ones. Rotation, horsepower tap, mounting arrangement, and shaft position all have to be set deliberately rather than inherited from the part.
