Mars Spno-Spnc 24V Relay M92380

The Mars M92380 is a relay providing single pole normally open and single pole normally closed contacts, with a 24 volt coil.

Fan control is among the most common relay applications in HVAC, and it illustrates why the contact arrangement matters.

An indoor blower may need to run on a call for cooling, on a call for heating, on a manual fan call from the thermostat, and on a call from a ventilation or air cleaning function. Combining these into a single blower output, while keeping the originating circuits separate, is exactly what relays are for.

A normally closed contact adds a further capability: interlocking, so that one function is disabled while another operates. Preventing an accessory from running during defrost, or disabling a humidifier when the blower is off, are typical examples.

Building such logic from discrete relays remains common on retrofits and on equipment where the control board does not provide the required function, and a relay with both contact types available in one device reduces the number of components needed.
