Mars Electric Motor 1/4 HP 208-230V 825 RPM M10404

The Mars M10404 is a 1/4 horsepower, 825 RPM, 208-230 volt motor for fan and blower duty in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Dual voltage 208-230 ratings cover both commercial and residential supplies from a single winding, with no configuration required. The motor operates on either, though at 208 volts it draws more current for the same output and has less margin against voltage sag.

That distinction becomes practically important on commercial installations during peak demand, when distribution voltage can fall meaningfully below nominal. A motor already operating at the bottom of its voltage range draws increased current, runs hotter, and is more likely to cycle on thermal overload during exactly the conditions when the equipment is most needed.

Where a motor on a 208 volt supply fails repeatedly, measuring voltage at the motor under load is a more productive step than fitting another identical motor.

The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering, and check running current against the nameplate figure for the actual supply voltage.
