The Mars M10405 is a 1/3 horsepower, 825 RPM, 208-230 volt motor for fan and blower applications in HVAC equipment.
Selecting a replacement motor requires matching a defined set of specifications, and horsepower is only one of them. The complete list is horsepower, speed, voltage, phase, rotation, frame diameter, shaft diameter, shaft length from the mounting face, mounting arrangement, bearing type, enclosure, lead length, and run capacitor requirement.
Getting most of them right is not sufficient. A motor with correct horsepower and voltage but the wrong shaft length will not position the fan blade correctly in its orifice. One with the wrong rotation will move air backwards. One with the wrong speed will deliver the wrong airflow. Each of these produces a system that runs while performing incorrectly, which is harder to diagnose than a system that simply does not run.
Recording the full specification from the failed motor's nameplate, and measuring what the nameplate does not state, is the reliable approach.
