The Mars M10588 is a 1/2 horsepower, 208-230 volt, 1075 RPM motor for fan and blower applications in HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Half horsepower at 1075 RPM is one of the most commonly required fractional motor specifications in HVAC service, covering condenser fans on larger residential units, indoor blowers in mid-size air handlers, and a range of commercial fan applications.

Because the specification is so common, it is also the size most likely to be substituted carelessly. A motor of the right horsepower and speed but the wrong shaft length, rotation, or frame diameter will not install correctly, and one with the wrong capacitor requirement will fail early even if it fits.
