Mars Electric Motor 1/2 HP 115V 1075 RPM Rev

The Mars M10587 is a 1/2 horsepower, 115 volt, 1075 RPM reversible rotation motor for fan and blower applications in HVAC equipment.

A reversible motor allows rotation to be set at installation by selecting the appropriate lead connection, rather than being fixed by the winding. This is a significant convenience in replacement work, because rotation is one of the specifications most often misidentified when ordering, and a reversible motor removes the possibility of receiving the wrong hand.

For a distributor it also halves the part numbers required, since one reversible motor covers both clockwise and counterclockwise applications.

The rotation must still be set correctly at installation. The wiring diagram supplied with the motor identifies which lead configuration produces which direction, and the direction should be confirmed by observing the motor before the fan blade or blower wheel is fitted, or by checking discharge direction immediately after start-up.

The motor requires a correctly rated run capacitor, permanently connected.

Confirm horsepower, RPM, voltage, frame diameter, shaft diameter and length, mounting arrangement, and capacitor rating before ordering, and verify rotation before returning the equipment to service.
