Description
The Mars M10591 is a 1 horsepower, 1075 RPM, 115 volt three-speed direct drive motor for indoor blower applications in furnaces, air handlers, and fan coil units.
One horsepower at 115 volts represents a considerable load on a single-phase branch circuit, and the supply arrangement should be confirmed against the nameplate rather than assumed. Full load current at this rating is high enough that conductor size, overcurrent protection, and any switch or disconnect in the circuit all matter.
The three-speed winding provides the airflow selection an indoor blower requires. In typical use the highest speed serves cooling, where correct evaporator airflow is essential, and a lower speed serves heating, where reduced airflow produces the supply temperature the furnace was designed for.
Recording the original speed lead connections before removing the failed motor is the reliable way to reproduce the correct airflow, since OEM tap assignments are rarely documented at the equipment.
The motor requires a permanently connected run capacitor of the specified value.
