Alemite ALMB322610 Loader Grease Fitting

The Alemite ALMB322610 is a loader grease fitting specified for heavyweight lubricants, fitting grease guns with a 1/8" NPTF(f) port in the head.

A loader fitting solves a problem every shop with a bulk grease supply runs into: filling a grease gun. Refilling by hand — pulling the head, packing the barrel, and working the air out — is slow, messy, and reliably introduces air pockets that leave the gun spitting instead of pumping. A loader fitting converts the gun into something that can be charged directly from a bulk loader or filler pump, drawing grease in under pressure with the air pushed out ahead of it.

Installation is straightforward: grease guns with a 1/8" NPTF(f) port in the head have that port plugged from the factory. The plug is removed and the loader fitting installed in its place.

The defining specification is the large ball check passage. Heavy lubricants do not flow through a standard passage at a usable rate, and forcing them through a restriction is what makes filling slow. The large passage is sized for the viscosity of heavyweight greases, and the ball check holds the charge in the gun once the loader is removed.

For light and medium weight lubricants, Alemite's B306740 is the corresponding standard-weight loader fitting.
