Alemite ALM9979-A 50 1 Ram 400# Cover & F

The Alemite ALM9979-A is a 50:1 ratio pneumatic stationary RAM grease pump for 400 lb drums, supplied complete with drum cover and follower plate.

The "Cover & F" in the short catalog designation is Cover and Follower, and it is the reason to specify this variant. Within Alemite's 400 lb drum pump range, the 9979-A is the model that ships with both the drum cover and the 338911 follower plate included. The follower plate rides on the grease surface and descends with it as the drum empties, keeping the pump inlet submerged and preventing the air voids that otherwise cause a pump to lose prime partway down a drum.

The pump is driven by a 3" diameter air motor at a 50:1 ratio and delivers up to 4.5 lb per minute. It is a double acting RAM design, which reduces line pulsation and allows the system to run at lower operating pressure. Material outlet is 3/8" NPTF(f) and the air inlet is 1/4" NPTF(f), with 360° adjustment of both.

It is recommended for piped installations up to 150 feet and meets OSHA noise requirements at 85 dB. The air motor and spool are accessible for service without removing the downtube, and the flexible follower suits straight or tapered containers.

Applications include vehicle and fleet workshops, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining, and marine maintenance operations dispensing grease from bulk drums through fixed piped systems.
